During high school and much of college, I was in a long-time relationship with my high school sweetheart, and Brew had had several serious relationships. So we remained just friends for a long time!
As we got to know each other more, our friendship grew and deepened. I knew that I could count on him anytime, anywhere, for anything. And the feeling was mutual. I had developed feelings more than friendship for Brew (as did he for me), but I was still in a (failing) relationship then.
After a summer of turmoil, I finally got out of my unhappy relationship. Brew and I then spent 6 more months as best friends, but not leaping into a serious relationship just yet...
We went on what we consider our first "date" in September of 2008. We went to dinner at the Marietta Brewing Company, and watched the Sternwheeler Festival fireworks together.
We decided to make it "official" on December 2, 2008, and ever since then I've been happier than ever. He truly is my very best friend. We just connect in a way I never connected with anyone before. Yes I believe I've been "in love" before Brew, but with him it was always different. We just made sense. I love his family as well, and they welcomed me in with open arms. I truly feel like they are my own blood.
We dated for a year, and on Christmas Day, 2009, Brew asked me to marry him. We had talked about it, and I knew it was coming SOMETIME but I had no idea when. He wrapped my ring in a million boxes (till the biggest one was about 2 1/2 ft cubed!!!) I kept unwrapping until I got down to the smallest box, when he got on one knee and asked me to marry him!
We got married on June 26, 2010. Honestly the day went by soooooo fast that I wish I could go back and do it again and really take it all in. It was perfect. Everything I could ever want!
We spent our wedding night at the Blennerhassett Hotel, and then honeymooned for 3 days/2 nights in the mountains of WV. We stayed at a cute Bed & Breakfast and visited Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks, Smoke Hole Caverns, and Blackwater Falls.
We added two furry additions to our family, in 2010 Duke (the black one) and in 2011 Earl!
And then on November 20, 2012 we welcomed our sweet baby boy Jackson into the world. He is the light of our lives & we love him sooo much!
