7 Months! What?!

Yep, Jackson turned 7 months old today!  As always, I can't believe it!  He's grown quite a bit this month, in both weight and height.  He is a super fun age too, just love my rotten little boy ;)

Weight/Length: 20lbs, 26.5 inches
Clothing Size: 6-9 months (or 9 months or 6-12 months depends on the brand and how they do sizing)
Diaper Size:  Size 3
Feeding: Breastfeeding- still going great, nurses about 6 times in a 24hr period (those are good 5-10min sessions) and then occasionally he'll nurse a bit more here & there (more like snacks/comfort nursing, just a couple min)  He usually nurses when he wakes up in the morning, before his 3 naps, and then before bed, and then 1 or 2 times at night.
Solids- eats 3 "meals"/day, oatmeal mixed w/breastmilk w/a few spoonfuls of fruit for breakfast, lunch is either a fruit or veggie, and then a veggie and sometimes a little meat for dinner. He loves just about all food!  We have introduced a sippy cup (still hasn't 100% "got it" yet) and we also have been practicing self-feeding with some gerber puffs (hasn't quite gotten the pincer grasp yet so he gets a couple pieces in his mouth and the dogs get the rest! lol)
Milestones: Sitting up on his own (unassisted), he can stand/bear weight on his legs with help of course, he's playing well independantly, can roll from back to belly and belly to back, not crawling yet, no real interest- usually rolls to his back within seconds of being put on his belly.  When sitting he can lean wayyy over to reach things, He's recognizing his name well and he is reaching for me or my husband when he wants picked up (love that!) No words just yet, still babbling and cooing tons though.  Still toothless, I'm guessing when he does get any teeth I am betting it'll be several at once! :-0
Sleep: A little better.  We are still part-time cosleeping at night.  He starts the night in his crib around 7:30/8.  Then he comes in our bed anywhere from 10-1.  We tried the Ferber method of sleep training and were unsuccessful, so we are going to keep doing what we are doing and maybe try again in a few months (I also will be more comfortable letting him cry when he's older I think-- and as a side note- Ferber is not just letting them cry and scream, its more controlled and involves you going in to check on them and soothe them).  That being said he usually wakes 1-2 times while in his crib and then only wakes up once if that while in our bed now so at least we are getting sleep! Naps are way better too, he usually takes 3 naps a day, usually one is around 2-2.5hrs, another is about an hour, and then another shorter 30-40min nap.  As far as what order they are in it just varies!  He takes at least one nap a day in his crib, he'll also nap in his carseat if we are out and about, or in our bed (I'll lay down and nurse him and when he falls asleep I'll get up and leave him to sleep).
Likes/Dislikes:  He likes his toys- he has several favorites.  He likes to be sitting up, likes his jumperoo, LOVES baths and playing in his little wading pool, he also thinks the dogs are pretty hilarious.  He likes my iphone and any electronic device or anything with a screen (typical male huh? lol)  He does NOT like being alone, but most other times he's happy!

Here's his video update!

Brew's first Father's Day.

Yesterday was my husbands first Father's Day!  We went to church, had lunch with my family, then spent the rest of the day just lounging at home, ending the day with putting Jackson to bed and watching Failure to Launch on abc family.

Since we are in the process of trying to save money (that is a whole other post that I will do sometime soon- from my computer rather than my phone) we decided not to do gifts for mothers/fathers day. We just did cards-- Jackson and I got daddy a card and I traced his hand in it :)

I am so incredibly blessed to have such an awesome husband. I knew even before we got married that he would be an awesome dad but I didn't really get just how great he would be.  He loves Jackson so much and I love to see Jackson's face light up and him reach for his daddy when he comes home from work.  I fell in love with him all over again watching him become a father.

Hope all you dads out there had an awesome day!
