Our Breastfeeding plans...
So I was going to include this in my general pregnancy recap/update I'm going to do but I thought it deserved its own post.
My husband and I took a breastfeeding class at our hospital recently and it was awesome. I HIGHLY recommend taking a class or at least connecting with and meeting with a lactation consultant before your baby is born if you are even considering nursing (full or part time). It was so awesome getting an overview, knowing what to expect, etc. I did a video giving a recap of what we learned in our class and also discuss our plans in detail. I hope that I can help by sharing what we learned! I would encourage every mom to breastfeed as long as she can as the benefits are SOOOO numerous for both mom and baby! And also definitely take a class beforehand- it was so helpful! Even for me, who is the queen of google research, I still learned things I didn't know! :)
Anyway here's my video!

My baby shower!
On September 23, I had my first baby shower, this one with friends and family :) My cousin Stefani (who was in visiting from Germany) did the majority of the work planning the WVU football themed shower, and also had some help from my mom, my mother in law, and my sister in law.
It was a fun, traditional baby shower, complete with plenty of games, finger foods, cake, and of course unwrapping goodies!
It was an awesome shower-- Baby Jackson is soooo blessed with tons of people that love him already! Thanks so much Stefani for planning it!!!
I did a video showing allll the goodies I got! Here it is, if you want to watch! :)

8 Week update-- and thoughts on being pregnant so far!
2 months down- 7 to go!
So I realized I haven't blogged much about the whole me-being-knocked-up thing so I thought I'd just write about that now!
I'm 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant today. Now I talk about my symptoms and all in my videos but I thought I'd tell you more about our road to getting here, and our thoughts & such!
So I did talk about it on here some, but our TTC ('trying to conceive') journey started a looooonnnnngggg time ago. Ok. Maybe not THAT long, but boy it sure felt like it!!! We started TTC in March of 2011. The first couple months we tried to be laid back about it (you know, not really trying but not preventing either). I just thought that we'd go off birth control and -bam- I'd get pregnant right away. Maybe it'd take a couple months but that'd be it. Well it didn't go that way. After a couple months of nothing- we decided to really "try". For me that meant learning ALLLLLL sorts of stuff about fertility, conception, cervical fluid (nice, I know), basal body temperature, charting, etc. Then we tried to "time" everything-- romantic, huh? Well guess what we did that for pretty much 8 months and nothing! We did have what's called a chemical pregnancy once, which is when conception takes place, you'll get a positive (in my case, very faint), but it fails to implant, and the pregnancy ends like a regular period. No fun at all. We had no luck for all that time we were "trying". Finally, in my 10th cycle of trying to conceive we finally just said FORGET IT. I was sooo tired of "trying". We decided to leave it up to God and if we didn't get pregnant by the one year mark, we'd go see the doctor. Well two months later-- I got pregnant!
We are beyond excited. This baby is soooo wanted and loved ALREADY! Admittedly I've been nervous, just hoping everything goes ok. I don't know very many first time momma's who don't have that fear of miscarriage in the back of their mind (especially those that have experienced a loss before), and I'm definitely one of them. But the more time goes by the better I feel about it. I'll be 9 weeks on Sunday. Which means my appointment is on Monday where I will *hopefully* hear that little heart beating. Then in three more weeks I'll be gearing up for the 2nd trimester which I'm soooo looking forward to. Don't get me wrong, I'm so grateful to be pregnant and even to have the symptoms that let me know I've got a little baby in my belly-- but the extreme tiredness and random bouts of nauseousness I could do without! ;) Not to mention I'm also looking forward to getting to see my baby on the ultrasound and getting to feel him or her move-- oh and of COURSE finding out if it's a boy or a girl! (Yeah we're so finding out-- we can't wait!)
I still pray everyday for a healthy little olive (that's how big the baby is during the 9th week ;)). And I'm sooo thankful God chose me to be this baby's mommy!

First snowday + December video!
Well folks, we finally had our first snow day of the year today! Normally where we live we get a decent amount of snow, usually starting in December and continuing through February/March depending on the year.
This year so far it's been a very mild winter, most days the temperature being around 40. Other than a light dusting we haven't seen snow at ALL this year! (and by this time last year we had already had like 3 snow days and a two hour delay)
Yesterday the temp went from being in the upper 40s to the low 20s by last night. A rain and acutally some thunderstorms came through followed by snow. Not a lot of snow, mind you, just a couple inches, but there was plenty of ice underneath (enough so to cancel school!).
Here's what our backyard looked like this morning (along with the dogs happily playing in the snow).
I also had time to edit/upload my December video to YouTube-- the last of the 2011 monthly videos! I have some different plans for my YouTube channel for 2012 so look for a video explaining that soon!
Hope everyone has a great day-- and stays warm!

September Video + random update
Yep- finally got it up!
I am VOWING to get a house tour video done by Thanksgiving. I have the week off so hopefully it'll happen. Granted- there's still not everything done I wanted. I was hoping to have the guest room set up and all the boxes cleared out of the 3rd bedroom-- but alas, my hubby has yet to make any progress on the first one-- and I haven't gotten rid of the boxes just yet because there are still some things that need moved from our old house. And we now have a time limit because my dad, aunt, and uncle found a person who would like to rent it now. So yeah- gotta get a move on. At any rate, I will do a video before Thanksgiving because I'm hoping to get Christmas decorations out soon after that!
I am getting over a cold-- I started getting sick Sunday morning. It's now Thursday and all that remains is a bit of chest congestion/coughing and my voice is froggy. I FEEL much better though-- Monday and Tuesday I felt pretty crummy. And of course I've been working everyday this week (had it booked for a while so I felt bad canceling at the last minute)
Other than that not much has been going on with us... I'll try and update again soon though (got a good recipe I wanna share!)

Update Fail
Yeah so I'm sucking at updating lately. I've been busy!
So it's almost the end of the school year! (Unfortunately I still have like 6 IEPs to write and meetings to have for my long-term job before the end of the year. Hence the "busy").
Everything's been going pretty well with us. Brew might have a job offer. He had a second interview today-- he should be home soon. It's basically about the same pay (though it'll be less once you subtract all the overtime he gets now) but that's just it-- Monday through Friday 8-5 and NO overtime. That means I will actually get to see my husband during the week! =-O So yeah. We'll have to do some number crunching and all before he takes it (if he's officially offered it) to make sure we can afford it, but I honestly believe it will be better for us for him to get this job.
Hmmm I think that's about all I can update you on-- Ohhhh and I got my March update up on my YouTube channel (finally LOL) Still working on the April one. Looks like I'm destined to be a month behind. Oh well. I'm not going to embed the video on here-- just go to my YouTube channel to watch!!! :) http://www.youtube.com/clogger024
Alrighty that's all for now!
